Acrylic Paintings
All art is an abstraction from reality. The difference is how much abstraction is taking place. I use a vivid color palette and strong graphic movement to capture a moment in time and convey my impressions of the subject.
Oil Paintings
My approach to painting is categorized as Impressionism. It’s more abstract than, say, photorealism. While still bright and colorful, my oil paintings are more blended and softer than my acrylics. Some subjects seem more suited to this approach.
Rock Cactus Pots
My Rock Cactus pots are so fun!!! I create individual cactus by seeking rocks that want to be cacti. These little assemblages are painted in vivid hues that capture the excitement of desert blooms. I teach a class on creating these pots in my Del Webb community.
